Jazz Brunch 2018

An appreciative audience thoroughly enjoyed the recent lunchtime concert of cool jazz classics.
And our grateful thanks go to local group Jazzmin for once again supporting the Hall in our fund-raising efforts.
And grateful thanks also to the Sussex Peasant for his kind donation of local produce to provide an excellent accompaniment to the delicious croissants!

The Dyke Pub Preservation Society

Breaking News: As a community organisation we would like to pass on the following information.  You are invited to attend the meeting tonight (Feb 6th) at The Church of the Good Shepherd Hall (from 8.30pm – 10pm) to discuss the Society’s Community Bid and to get the latest updates on plans for the future of the Dyke Pub.

Aviva £5,000 Bid – Winners Announced

We’re naturally disappointed not to have been successful in our bid for £5,000 to provide a professional lighting rig at the Hall – but certainly not down-hearted. We’ll continue to seek out sources of financing so that we can carry on with the maintenance and improvement of the fabic and facilities of our wonderful building.
Grateful thanks go to the hall volunteers who worked so hard on the initial bid – and a special thank-you to the hundreds of people who supported our bid.

A Life Saver At The Hall

Here we are with our friends from Elements First Aid, St Luke’s Advice, and Fitness league.

We are as proud as punch to announce the recently installed Automated External Defib-rillator (AED).
Huge Hall thanks to:
The Sussex Heart Charity for providing the defibrillator and cabinet
The British Heart Foundation for providing free training equipment
Extra Special Hall thanks to:
Flora at Elements First Aid for arranging everything and especially for providing free training
Hall thanks also to Martin at Loop Electric for putting this life saving device up.

AEDs are designed to be used by members of the public. They are easy to use, compact, portable and very effective. They also save lives!
Free 2 hour CPR and AED training sessions are being provided by Flora. So far, two sessions have been arranged – see below – but further sessions will be arranged to meet demand.
