Coming up roses

The Inaugural Exeter Street Hall Open Gardens Trail
Sunday 14 June 2pm-5pm
Bloomblog Collage-3
Thanks to all our generous and hospitable residents who threw open their doors, baked up a storm and popped the kettle on. Our first ever Open Garden trail was a lovely way to while away the afternoon. You think you know your neighbourhood, only to discover hidden gems, inspiration for outdoor spaces and plenty of chances for chat and cake.

It had the lot: small, shady yards to expansive spaces, clean lines and architectural interest to packed flowerbeds and plentiful pots, plots packed with edible goodies to outdoor living rooms, laid lawn to astro and contemporary kidtastic spaces to peaceful places with mature trees and shrubs. It was a total treat to be welcomed into people’s homes and have a mosey and a nosey. With the option to glug down tea, minty limeade and Pimm’s and scoff cake, meringues and samosas, visitors did well to wheel around the whole trail. A lovely, feel-good event set to send many scurrying home with bold schemes and great intentions. Or at least with a firm commitment to water some plants.
