The Christmas Fair – arranged and organised by Francesca of Magic Lamp Arts – returned to the Hall on Sunday and drew a record number of visitors who came to cast an eye over the wide range of gifts and objets d’art on display from local artists, makers and designers and to stock up on Xmas presents for friends and relatives.
On display were greetings cards, framed art, plush creatures and designer clothing, glorious lighting and luxury candles, and a variety of creations featuring textiles, wood, ceramics and sackfuls more!
The pop-up Ding Dong Bar, the Hall’s festive café, did a healthy trade in mince pies, Exeter Street Hall Special Reserve Punch and the ubiquitous Buck’s Fizz. And also the odd cup of tea!
But the highlight of the event for those of less advanced years was undoubtedly the Hall’s very own Rose Dewick with her ground-breaking conception of Manta Claus – which delighted the youngsters, and provided welcome relief for the parents!
